Can negative emotions such as stress, sadness, or anger cause disease?

I found this quote by Hippocrates mounted over the exit of the hospital where my father was treated recently. It reads the following, in Greekgood v:

“Before you cure someone, ask them if they are willing to leave behind all that makes them sick.” ~Hippocrates

It struck me as 100% wise and true, but also as a huge irony, seeing that conventional medicine focuses on the body and often overlooks the importance of the mind and the spirit in the process of healing as well as the catastrophic effects of negative emotions.

Those who’ve followed me for a while know that I keep a natural approach to maintaining good health. I am passionate about healthy living/eating, and also about discovering ‘alternative’ practices and techniques to manage negative feelings (including stress) and to keep myself healthy.

To me, all diseases are psychosomatic. Even if what causes a disease can be something wrong in our diet or lifestyle, or a certain nutrient deficiency, the catalyst is always a negative emotion. According to the philosophy of Qi Gong (an ancient Chinese healing practice that I am fascinated about), every major organ can become sick from a specific negative emotion. Given enough time, fear hurts the kidneys, for example. Sorrow hurts the lungs, stress hurts the stomach and the spleen, anger hurts the liver, and malice or bearing grudges is bound to hurt the heart. To Qi Gong, disease is nothing but negative emotion (stale energy) stuck in the body.

Using Qi Gong exercises or a Qi Gong healing practice, the energy meridians are cleared of the stale energy. Qi flows effortlessly along the meridians anew and thus health is restored. It sounds very simple, I know, but it certainly works. In the past year, I have learned to do simple Qi Gong exercises at home to get the Qi moving and remove stale energy. I’ve also attended an online seminar to learn the basics of the ancient healing practice of Qi Gong. It’s very self-intuitive and it makes me very excited when I work on someone and get to guess where they have pain or discomfort!

But it’s not just Qi Gong that I picked up in the recent years that helped me change the way I look at dis-ease. There’s also the amazing medicine of Dr Hamer that tells us that every disease has an emotional trigger…

Back in the 1970s, Dr Hamer began to develop the ground-breaking Germanic New Medicine – nowadays more commonly known as ‘German New Medicine’. According to his findings, every dis-ease has an emotional trigger. In response to that detrimental emotional trigger, the mind runs a ‘program’ in the body, which we call dis-ease, and which has a cycle and a healing phase.

Dr Hamer charted the human brain, recording which part of the brain corresponds to which part of the body. He noted that in the case of every dis-ease, the brain acquires marks that look like shooting targets in the corresponding part of the brain for the ailing part of the body.

His colleagues used to hand him the brain MRIs of their patients and Dr Hamer would tell them which dis-eases their patients had in the past and in the present time, based on the look of these target marks. According to him, when the brain runs the ‘healing’ program, it can employ viruses, bacteria and fungi in the body to eat away at anything that needs to go – cysts, fibroids or cancer tumours, for example.

For the ‘dis-ease program’ to stop running in the brain, the patient needs to pinpoint which was the stressful or upsetting or otherwise emotionally negative situation that triggered their dis-ease in the first place. Germanic New Medicine is truly a remarkable medical method, and I have full faith that it will gain more ground in the years to come.

I have a British friend in India who has saved the lives of at least 200 terminally ill cancer patients in this country so far using the Germanic New Medicine method. Just by talking to them and helping them find the trigger that gave them the cancer. He works for free, treating poor families there.

Those patients were told by their doctors they didn’t have long to live. They could help them no more and basically sent them home to await the inevitable. But this man sat them down and asked them a few questions to pinpoint what happened to them emotionally around the time when the dis-ease started. That conversation was all that was needed. Every time. You see, once the patient realizes, the dis-ease ‘program’ in the brain is ceased and a new ‘program’ for healing kicks in.

FREE! Read it, and you’ll never think of cancer the same way again!

The Brit in India I just shared about is an author called Danny Carroll and this is his new book.

Today, I am pleased to offer you the chance to read Danny’s amazing book for FREE! It is a short read – about 80 pages, but the knowledge it packs is so inspiring that I believe it’s a true life-changer. I hope and expect it will flick that switch in many people’s minds to realize that they have way more control on overcoming disease without medical assistance than they tend to think. And then, perhaps, they won’t be as dependent on a medical system that is often found to be ineffective, to say the least.

The author is happy to give out free copies of his book to anyone willing to consider posting a review on Amazon upon reading. To claim your free copy, simply email the author directly at dc@danny-carroll.com

A presentation of the book by the author:

My name is Danny Carroll, I have been researching cancer for nearly two decades, and spent the last seven years helping terminally and chronically ill cancer patients, who medical doctors had given up on, to fully recover their health. And I am not a doctor.

My teacher was a traditional medical doctor specialized in research and in 1978, discovered a critical link between emotional trauma and cancer when he was diagnosed with cancer two months after his 19 year old son was shot and murdered. His subsequent medical discoveries are quite extraordinary.

“This is one of the most empowering books on cancer you will ever read. We are so used to symptom treatment being our medical standard of care today. Everyone deserves to know and understand that their bodies have the innate power to heal themselves. This is our birth right that we need to accept, acknowledge, and activate. This book helps you to do just that.” – Tessa Anthia John Guerra, Licensed Psychologist & Psychotherapist

Email the author at dc@danny-carroll.com to request a FREE copy of this book. All he asks is that you will consider posting a review on Amazon upon reading – if you choose to do so.

Update: Now, you may also purchase the book on Amazon. It is a bestseller!

Fascinating stuff, huh? If you’d like to know more, there is a free book on the internet that analyses the philosophy of Dr Hamer’s Germanic New Medicine. It also lists all diseases with real cases recorded by the doctor himself, with advice for healing.

I use it as a reference book to look things up (it’s been accurate so many times!!) but it’s very ‘meaty’ in many parts, getting into fascinating details about the philosophy of this medical practice and the workings of the human mind.

The book is called THE PSYCHIC ROOTS OF DISEASE BY BJORN EYBL. Just google it and download a FREE PDF. Other electronic formats may also be available.

Alternatively, you can buy the paperback on Amazon:

On the subject of cancer, I highly recommend this book. It explains things simply and mentions various protocols on how to beat the dis-ease naturally. The author, Ty Bollinger, has made an amazing documentary on the subject, which I’ve watched on the Internet and found mind-blowing. See my review of the book and links to the first couple free episodes of the docuseries here: http://effrosyniwrites.com/2017/12/04/book-review-the-truth-about-cancer-by-ty-bollinger/

How to grow sprouts in a jar. Delicious and packed with nutrients!

Hi All!

Today, I am sharing a bunch of free books in my newsletter, including a very special book from a man who is saving cancer patients in India, just by talking to them! Interested to hear more? Scroll all the way down for my newsletter link!

And now, to tell you about this exciting new discovery I made…

I recently watched a video by nutrition expert Mike Adams about how to grow sprouts in glass jars and got so excited I immediately set out to find jars with suitable lids. I just had to grow sprouts in a jar! It looked so easy to do. Growing alfalfa seeds in particular seems to offer a wealth of health benefits.

Finding sprouting seeds online was easy, but the jar was a totally different story. It proved impossible to find glass jars with mesh (plastic or metal) on the lid. Once again, hubbie saved the day. He cut up the metal lid you can see here and added a sheet of plastic mesh. That did the trick to grow the sprouts twice, then the lid began to rust, which wasn’t good. So he made a ring out of plastic to use as a lid. Using brass nails he then attached some plastic mesh to the lid. This did the trick just fine.

Basically, I put a spoonful of organic alfalfa seeds in the glass jar, fill it with filtered water and leave it standing upright covered with a towel away from sunlight for 10 hours (the seeds should not be left to soak much longer).

I always start soaking the seeds in the morning. Then, in the evening (10-12 hours later max), I drain the water and put the jar upside down in a narrow container, a little tilted, in indirect sunlight. I use a strainer to sit it on, with a breakfast bowl underneath, and I rest it against a wall to be safe. Anywhere in a sunny room will do, as long as the sunlight doesn’t directly shine on the jar.

After that, twice a day, morning and evening (about 10-12 hours apart), I fill the jar with water and drain it immediately. I repeat 2-3 times to rinse the sprouts well, then leave the jar in its makeshift cradle upside down. That’s it.

You can start eating the sprouts after 4-5 days of doing this twice a day. I leave them for about 5-6 days in the jar in the way I explained, then I drain well and put them in a container in the fridge to enjoy in salads or sandwiches. They are delicious!

If I start eating from the jar, I cannot stop haha. They are so crunchy, a wonderful texture. Last time, I threw in a few broccoli seeds too (they have a slight kick) so I enjoyed a mix with the alfalfa seeds. It was very nice. Radish seeds are supposed to have a kick too, but I haven’t tried those yet. Always use organic, no matter what sprouts you go for.

You can watch Mike Adams’s short video HERE

I hope it will inspire you the way it inspired me.

This is a new book (only short, about 90 pages) and it is offered for free in my latest newsletter. Read it and you’ll never think of cancer (or any other dis-ease) in the same way again! This is a book by a very special Englishman, who learned a ground-breaking medicine method from a doctor and is now practicing it in India, working for free, saving the lives of terminally ill cancer patients that the medical system could help no more. All he does is talk to them… and this simple intervention saves their lives, somehow, thanks to this amazing medical practice that is still to be discovered by the masses. It sounds strange, I know, but it works!

FREE books, a beach vacation in Corfu and more Greek summer fun

Yowza! I had a hit of bad luck last month. I went on vacation to my granny’s house in Moraitika, Corfu for my annual summer break to find the old metal pipes had rusted and there was not a single drop of water! To cut a long story short, my intended 10-day vacation in Corfu (staying on my own for the most part at the house) ‘shrunk’ to the precious total of just 3 days staying at a hotel.

My husband, Andy, was planning to leave on the weekend anyway as he was starting work on Monday so I decided to return to Athens with him. At least, we know the house will be ready for us by next year as the plumber who informed us of the problem committed to changing the pipes for us this fall during our absence.

Best silver lining: We were lucky to get a room at Romantica at high season. Incredible! The owner, an angel of a man called Leftis, made us feel right at home. And he even gave us precious parting gifts of his own making. Low-acidity extra virgin olive oil and a skin cream made with organic herbs. A man of many talents!

We’ve enjoyed staying at Romantica so much that it actually makes me feel sorry to know I won’t be going back again. And for anyone who knows how much I value my granny’s little village house where I’ve been staying almost annually since the 70s that says a lot, LOL!

In the 3 days of our stay on the island, we had a couple swims in perfect, (jellyfish-free!) waters, including one in Messonghi, and enjoyed dinners at Jimmy’s (in Moraitika) and Bacchus (in Messonghi). Both, highly recommended if you visit the area.

GO HERE TO SEE NEW PHOTOS FROM THESE ALLURING CORFIOT VILLAGES THAT INSPIRE MY STORIES!

If you haven’t checked out my insider’s guide to the villages of Moraitika and Messonghi in south Corfu, go check it out now! They’re both small, idyllic and perfect for families and quiet couples. Lots of fun to be had, and they’re great starting points for exploring other wonderful areas too, even by pleasure little boats!

FREE books, an impromptu air show, an ancient temple and Lord Byron’s carving

Greece is having a summer for the books. After two devastating fires earlier this month in the Peloponnese and Evia that burnt thousands of acres of forest land, many homes, and even wiped out whole villages from the map, it was ‘our turn’ last week here in West Attica. A fire in the area of Villia blazed for five consecutive days, every day getting closer and closer to my seaside town near Athens, making everybody nervous. I do confess, I did pack, just in case. The only ray of sunshine we had last week was the swims at the local beach that daily came with a free air show! Both Erickson helicopters and Canadair planes kept coming over to refill. Even 6 Canadair planes at one time. And they all came and went perfectly synchronized. Everyone held their phones at the ready and I couldn’t help myself either.

A marathon race in Nafplio inspired my Greek novel, Running Haunted

Nafplio was the first capital of Greece after the country’s War of Independence in the 1820s against Turkish rule. As a result, it is a town steeped in history, an element that is present in every corner of the old town center, with its grand neoclassical buildings and the magnificent Venetian fortress, Palamidi, that dominates the town’s skyline with its unparalleled charm. Not to forget, of course, the picturesque waterfront. The tiny fortress of Bourtzi, set in the water like a jewel and a silent sentinel, is an idyllic landmark that visitors love to marvel at from the multitude of cafes and restaurants lining the port.

Thought I’d share today some photos from a special weekend break in this magnificent town, which took place a few years back. It was the weekend of the annual Nafplio Marathon race, plus it was in March, very close to Independence Day (March 25). The Greek flags decorating the picturesque lanes of Nafplio added to their inherent charm a touch of national pride.

During our weekend break, my husband and I made sure to walk around the town a lot, to take in the incredible energy of it all, and to fill our minds with the serenity of the setting.

Saturday was a quiet day, but Sunday was a celebration! The town came alive with big crowds that stood expectant and music blaring from massive speakers. The annual Marathon race of Nafplio, a highly successful event, took place that morning, sending both runners and cyclists on a series of races around town and its outskirts to be cheered by excited spectators.

As opposed to the Athens marathon that’s regarded one of the most difficult to participate in (because its last stretch is a continuous climb uphill), the Nafplio marathon proved to be much easier for my husband, who ran the race, seeing that the ground was flat throughout.

Strolling around Nafplio is a unique experience. Magnificent squares, such as Syntagma (Constitution) and Trion Navarchon (Three Admirals), picturesque lanes, cafes and tavernas, curio shops and smart boutiques attract the eye in every corner. Surely, a photographer’s paradise.

For the enthusiasts of history, there is a lot to see and explore. Other than the Archeological museum and the Mosque (that housed the first parliament of Greece after the War of Independence), there are three historical forts around town.

Palamidi is, by far, the most magnificent, set atop a high peak that overlooks Nafplio. On a lower peak beside it, stands the fort of Akronafplia, and last but not least, the tiny fort of Bourtzi is, hands down, the most enchanting, seeing that it’s built on a tiny island at a short distance from the seafront. On a peaceful, sunny day, it’s a mesmerizing sight, seemingly floating on the water like a peaceful, off-white bird.

To me, it is no surprise that my great love for Nafplio, coupled with the delightful experience of that Marathon weekend there, in time inspired to write a novel – my romantic comedy, Running Haunted. And, in it, I unfold the allure of Nafplio in all its glory.

The book tells the story of Kelly Mellios, a marathon runner, who visits Nafplio to run the race and winds up getting hired to run a house. With a ghost in it!

MORE INFO:

The stunning and athletic Kelly Mellios runs a marathon in the alluring Greek town of Nafplio and winds up getting hired as a housekeeper by Alex Sarakis, a charming hotelier. Alex lives with his three underage children and a quirky pug, but no one knows there’s an extra inhabitant in the house… It’s the ghost of Alex’s late wife that lingers on with a secret plan.

When Kelly finds out the house is haunted, she freaks out at first, but then finds herself itching to help the ghost settle its unfinished business. It is evident there’s room for improvement in this family… Plus, her growing attraction towards Alex is overpowering…

Will Kelly do the ghost’s bidding? How will it affect her? And just how strange is this pug?

The Amulet, a Greek paranormal romance, receives a 5-star review from Readers’ Favorite

Wuhoo! I’ve received another glowing review from Readers’ Favorite, this time for The Amulet!

Here’s an excerpt:

“What a stunning read! You can feel the summer heat and taste the sumptuous Greek dishes as the words just leap from the page. Effrosyni Moschoudi’s love of Greece and its many treasures is evident in The Amulet. I loved the strong female characters. Mrs. Sparks, Matina, Katie, and Elise are such strong women and Chloe, the little girl who loves moussaka, is charming. There are humor and pathos alongside love and sadness, and you will love the story of the smelly angel with dreadful eating habits! I loved this book and look forward to visiting Greece again in the pages of another novel by this author.”

Moraitika and Messonghi in Corfu: an insider’s travel guide

Messonghi river, Corfu
Messonghi river

Today, I am writing to spread the word about my favorite corners of the world – the stunning villages of Moraitika and Messonghi in Corfu. Having holidayed there most summers since the late 1970s, I’ve written an insider’s travel guide to spread the word about them.

My guide will tell you everything you need to know if you’re planning a visit, or if you’re simply hoping to do that sometime in future. ‘Cos who doesn’t like to daydream about beautiful exotic locations, right?

Messonghi beach, Corfu
Messonghi beach

In my travel guide you will find among other things:

Traditional Greek tavernas, recommended family hotels and apartments, the best beaches in the area, where to go for live shows and a great night out (lots of family fun!), the best boat trips (setting off from Messonghi river or Lefkimmi port), places of interest and fun things to do in the greater area and more.

Moraitika beach
Moraitika beach, view to the mountains of Chlomos and Martaouna

Did you know?

Moraitika’s old village quarter is nestled on a hill and is full of picturesque lanes you’ll love to explore and revisit. My insider’s guide will give you intriguing facts and history tidbits as well as offer tips on places of interest off the tourist trail.

And did you know there are three wonderful family tavernas up on the hill, all offering exquisite Greek dishes? One of them has this stunning view that overlooks the bay!

View to Messonghi and Moraitika from Spileo

Speaking of stunning views, there’s another taverna that overlooks the same bay, but this one is on the side of Messonghi. The taverna is situated on Martaouna, one of the two iconic mountains of both the Moraitika and Messonghi skyline. In the same building, there are also apartments that offer the same breathtaking view. It’s all in the guide!

Messonghi beach
Messonghi beach

Moraitika and Messonghi are great destinations for beach fun! Moraitika offers some water sports, pedaloes and canoes for hire, and a water park that’s great for both adults and kids alike. The beach at Messonghi is quieter, with a greater proximity to the iconic lush mountains on the peninsula, and is graced by a weather-beaten, yet much loved pier that is a must to walk or sunbathe on, if only to marvel at the crystal clear waters under it.

Are you a Durrells fan? The guide will tell you how to book a great boat trip from Messonghi river that will take you to both Kalami (to visit the White House) and to Kontokali to see the film house of the Durrells TV show (from the boat). In the guide, you’ll also find out how you can book an exclusive guided tour (specific dates and times only!) to visit Danilia, where many village scenes of the show were filmed!

Moraitika and Messonghi are perfect choices for fun in the sun, whether you’re traveling with children, as a quiet couple, with friends, or even alone. It’s a safe place to be in and the locals are exceptionally friendly.

So what are you waiting for? Visit my guide now and start planning your perfect beach holiday!

An effective way to beat stress

Today I want to talk to you about stress and how to fight it effectively and naturally. This is a revolutionary new method that is free and easy to use, and it works like magic… Millions are using it all over the world every day. It has transformed my life… and so I feel compelled to share my experience with you, hoping it will help you too.

Those who follow my blog are familiar with my harrowing health issues for the past five years. Thankfully, it’s all behind me now and, being one to always see the silver lining, I’ve come to consider it all a precious life lesson.

The great Ernest Hemingway once said, ‘We’re all broken. That’s how the light gets in’.

And it takes one to become truly broken to know how true that is.

Through my five-year-long streak of adversity, I’ve emerged a new, stronger and wiser person. For one, I’ve learned to take it easy, and not to be so hard on myself, fully aware now that all my health issues were triggered by stress and my own wrong attitude.

But you know what? Stress can’t touch me any more. It’s because I’ve learned a new skill that made a huge difference, and I am thrilled to write about it today to share it with you!

I’ve recently had the honor to be invited to Colleen Story’s amazing blog, “Writing and Wellness”. If you’re struggling with stress and overwhelm, by the way, you’ll do well to read her blog (and to check out her books too, if you’re a fellow author.)

Colleen and I chatted about my personal struggles, how it all began for me, why, and what it entailed. In the process, I shared all about the specific skill that helped me to battle stress effectively for a change.

We all have to face stress, and it’s detrimental to our health more than we realize until it’s too late… That’s what happened to me. Don’t let that happen to you too. That’s why I am sharing. Knowledge is power. I urge you to google the stress hormone ‘cortisol’ in relation with cancer and autoimmune diseases, for instance…

Avoiding stress means avoiding mortal risks. And that is why I regard this skill I’ve picked up as the most important one I’ve learned my whole life. And this means a lot, believe me, as it’s coming from someone who, at the tender age of 18, was picking up books like the Jose Silva Mind Control Method and anything I could find on self-hypnosis and meditation. I never stopped picking up mind-hack methods since then, but this one turns out to be the most incredible and the most effective I’ve ever known, including NLP.

Check out my chat with Colleen here and see if my new skill can help you out too! It also works wonderfully to ease physical pain among other things.

Feel free to comment below and share about your own experience with stress. And if you use my method, be sure to return here and let me know how it went 🙂

Tripfiction: an awesome site for authors and readers

reading woman beach

Last week, I blogged about Yonndr, a site where readers can search for books set in their travel destinations – or for books set in their favorite places in general! The post was a hit and many among my author friends went on the site to submit their books. I did too, goes without saying. Yonndr have been wonderful and listed my books quickly and impeccably. Today I am back to inform you about Tripfiction, another site that’s based on this awesome concept.

Tripfiction

Tripfiction allows refined searches, for example for the Greek island of Corfu, you can refine the search for the village of Kavos. This site also provides the option to add a review!

Anyway, I’m busy today creating new artwork to promote my Corfu-based romance, The Ebb. So I’ll leave you with this little sample that makes me chuckle. Why? The smiling Brit floating in the sparkling Ionian waters is my hubby, Andy. Ah – happy times, and I really can’t wait for my next Corfu holiday.

Happiness2

The process of making the images today is making me all dreamy about Corfu, so I’d better run before I bore you! I expect you have things to do, anyway, like submit (or look for) books on Tripfiction!

Have a wonderful, prosperous day!
