Yes! Thrilled to present today my new novel on Amazon. It is set in the charming Greek town of Nafplio and features a marathon runner, a widower with three underage kids, a quirky pug, and a ghost!

Here’s the book description:

Kelly ran a marathon… and wound up running a house. With a ghost in it.

Kelly Mellios is a stunning, athletic woman, who has learned—the hard way—to value herself. Having just finished her first marathon in the alluring Greek town of Nafplio, she bumps into Alex, a gorgeous widower with three underage children, who is desperately looking for a housekeeper.

The timing seems perfect, seeing that Kelly aches to start a new life, and Nafplio seems like the ideal place to settle down. She accepts the position on the spot, but little does she know that Alex’s house has an extra inhabitant that not even the family knows about…

The house is haunted by Alex’s late wife, who has unfinished business to tend to. By using the family pet, a quirky pug named Charlie, the ghost is able to communicate with Kelly and asks her for help. She claims she wants to ensure her loved ones are happy before she departs, but offers very little information about her plans.

Kelly freaks out at first, but gradually finds herself itching to help. It is evident there’s room for improvement in this family… Plus, her growing attraction towards Alex is overpowering…

Book review: A Tuscan night #bookreview #reviews

Oh my. Talk about serendipity coming to the rescue. This book landed on my hands a couple of months after my mother was diagnosed with a brain tumor (metastatic cancer). My family life changed overnight because of the scary new symptoms involved. And then, this book came, and it spoke to my scarred psyche to provide comfort like no other book could ever have.

This is the latest gem by Kostas Krommydas and it’s now one of my favourites by this author. The heroine, Ismene, finds out she has brain cancer on her wedding day. You would naturally think that such a premise would make for an original, yet depressing story, but, strangely enough, A Tuscan Night is an incredibly uplifting story of a woman who defies the threat of death, throws caution to the wind and sets off to an adventure, knowing fully well this could be her last.

Ismene makes new friends in Tuscany, samples divine food and wine in idyllic Mediterranean settings, and meets the perfect man in the face of a charming, wandering musician… Who says that someone with such a terrible disease on their hands should give up on life? So many stop living the day they hear the word ‘cancer’ from the lips of their doctors. But not Ismene; In her case, this was where the best part of her life began…

The story of this remarkably brave woman has touched me deeply, and not only because of my mother’s illness. It has reminded me that no matter the difficulty, we always have the choice of how to react, how to feel and behave. Ismene made the perfect choice, in my eyes.

Mr Krommydas has gone and done it again, offering his readers another masterfully written, heart-wrenching tale and tons of inspiration. Highly recommended.

Thanksgiving / Black Friday Greek book deals

What better time for a writer to give thanks?

Caught up by the Thanksgiving spirit as the great American holiday approaches, I find myself counting my blessings, here too, on the other side of the pond.

This month marks six years since I started out as an indie writer, knowing no one at the time who could teach me a single thing or give me even the most basic of tips. As I taught myself Twitter, blogging, and a staggering amount of other things, it is no surprise to me now, thinking back, that I used to wake and go to bed daily feeling the trepidation gnawing at my insides like a wild animal, to say the least. I got two frozen shoulders triggered by stress since then to prove it – but I soldiered on.

Luckily, my persistence and resilience paid off and, soon, I found a series of mentors who sent me off on my way with newfound confidence. Later, the gifts of partnership and friendship with a plethora of incredibly talented authors followed and, ultimately, I found the best blessing of all – the opportunity to connect with a multitude of people online who later became my loyal readers and supporters.

Today, I present to you two heart-rending picture books by Marina Gioti. You may remember my interview with Marina, or my review of the first book in the series, One Heart, that explores the love between mothers and daughters. In the two latest volumes, Marina Gioti explores the love of a father for his daughter, and that of a mother for her son.

Later, comes the mother’s pride over her child’s academic/professional achievements and, ultimately, when he becomes a father himself.

I know of no better books that speak of the cycle of family life better than this series by Marina Gioti. Book review: Lake of Memories by Kostas Krommydas

What I love about Kostas Krommydas is that every new book of his that is released comes with a guarantee – an invisible, yet tangible seal of quality that makes me fully confident to buy, knowing I am holding in my hands my next enthralling, favourite read before I even go past the cover. This was even more so the case with Lake of Memories, seeing that it rendered me riveted from the first page.

Once again, the author has created a world of intricate human relationships, where invisible threads bind everyone together, causing them to push and pull in a soulful dance that renders the reader mesmerized. The ending is delivered masterfully, tugging at the heart with a treasure of emotions and filling the mind with deep thoughts that are bound to be revisited again and again long after finishing the book.

Highly recommended, this is now one of my favourite books by this author.
