How to visit Danilia Village where The Durrells of Corfu were filmed!
If you love The Durrells of Corfu then I bet you’re dying to visit Danilia Village where many outdoor scenes of the TV series have been filmed. Today I’m going to share an awesome tip so you can visit it when you’re next on the island!
Before I go any further, though, to mention that you will find some great behind-the-scenes photos of the cast and an exclusive interview with Kostas Krommydas who plays the super in The Durrells HERE!
Fans of this fine actor and author will be excited to hear, I’m sure, that he is heading back to Corfu this Autumn to film the fourth series of The Durrells!
DANILIA VILLAGE HAS RE-OPENED ITS GATES TO THE PUBLIC!
Earlier this year I published this post where I shared a picture from my visit to Danilia Village as a schoolgirl back in 1985. I also shared some of its history mentioning, among other things, that it had been sold by the Bouas family to Grecotel. As a result, for quite some time, Danilia Village had become accessible only to the guests of the Corfu Imperial Grecotel Resort.
Until now! The other day, my Facebook friend Marie Dinsmore told me that she’d just visited Danilia Village with an organized tour from the aforementioned resort even though she wasn’t a guest there!
So, typically of me, I didn’t waste any time! I contacted the resort and confirmed that they now offer organized tours to Danilia Village to non guests for a fee!
So thank you, Marie Dinsmore, for providing this information that I can now share with you all. Check it out below in detail!

ORGANIZED TOUR DATES AND TIMES
The guided tours take place Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. The mini van departs from the hotel’s main gate at 10:00 am and returns there around 11:30 am (the tour lasts about 1 hour).
HOW TO BOOK:
You are required to pre-book. Please don’t just turn up (either at the hotel or Danilia). This is the only way to ensure that you will be admitted.
To book, phone the hotel at: 26610 88400
Ticket cost: 15 euro per person (check with them in case this changes – this was correct at the time that I wrote this post).
Note: Mrs Theodoraki at the Guest Services Dpt advised me that if you cannot visit the hotel, you can join the tour at Danilia Village but in this case they won’t be able to issue a receipt for your purchase.
